De Pas - D’Urbino - Lomazzi

De Pas - D’Urbino - Lomazzi
Donato D’Urbino and Paolo Lomazzi work in the sector of architectural and urban planning, and also in the planning of objects, layouts and furnishings, in collaboration with the most important Italian companies.
The Studio was established in 1966 by the architect Jonathan De Pas as the De Pas, D'Urbino, Lomazzi Studio. De Pas passed away in 1991.

Together with their planning activity they also do theoretical and cultural research. They have participated in many competition juries, and were members of the Board of the Order of Architects for the Province of Milan (1993-94), and the Building Commission for the City of Milan (1997-99). They also lectured at the Politecnico di Milano university (1999-2008) and have been doing so at the IUAV at the University of Venice since 2005.

The Studio’s output has been documented in the historical literature on Italian design and in many international publications on architecture and industrial design.

Many of their works are present in the design collections of many museums around the world and they have been selected for traveling exhibitions on Italian design.

In 2010, their archives were declared to be of “particularly important historical interest” by the Ministry of Cultural Activities and Heritage and it was donated to the C.A.S.V.A (Centre of Higher Learning for Visual Arts) of the City of Milan for preservation and consultation.

The volume published by RDE in 2011 brings together a large selection of the studio’s works.
