Fante

1978 Fante by De Pas, D’Urbino Lomazzi creates Stilnovo.

Fante
“Perhaps at the time one of the first molds, in order to create the bottom of a rubber cone to create a soft effect to the lamp base. In this case too the idea was to have no articulating parts so as to fix the light, through the use of a plate leaning on the lamp, so as to look like a hat on the head of lady whose name might be Cornelia, a little hat that could be shifted to control the light on the surface where it sits and a light that more diffused upwards.
D’Urbino and Lomazzi, from an interview given (March 2013) at the DePas D’Urbino Lomazzi Studio in Milan.

Description
In the re-release of iconic pieces, the problem is often one of making the light source more suitable, as they were often no longer available. The Fante had this problem, but it was resolved by the architect Poalo Lomazzi who identified a perfect alternative lamp for its re-release, so as to give the product a pleasing updated aesthetic look.
